Hey, it's a cheap looking Shimano.

Wait, is that a prototype or a retro bike? Ellsworth must be in the drug business. I have never seen one on the trail but yet they still seems to stay in the game somehow. I have herd they have a sick headquarters too that looks out over the ocean. I think this bike looks quite similar to the one I used in the PS2 game Downhill Domination. I think that game came out in 2003 if I remember correctly.

I ride my 4x at downieville and it rips. I love my 4x. I have had people ask to trade me that have Nomads.

Shimano brakes are the best hands down. It's funny how many companies have begun to somewhat copy their designs. For example the new hayes calipers look fairly similar to the design of Shimano's. My 2007 Shimano Saint brakes are probably the best brakes I have used to date.

Agreed. Looks more like a Super D or something.

Peaty's bike is very nice but what's up with the duck tape on the chain stay? I know the syndicate mechanics can be a bit macgyverish but can they afford to make this guy a custom chain stay protecter?

I still think they should of made it with 40mm stantions instead of 36mm.

I think these bikes have an extra link. If I remember right the swing arm on the ASX is practically directly mounted to the shock. There are some good videos on the Santacruz website that are good.

No I agree, there is little difference in quality. Especially in today world. But It does cost more to manufacture in the USA. But at the same time Yeti does a really good job with their bikes. They do some things on their bikes that most companies don't do anymore, such as facing BB tubes and steering tubes.

4 years ago, when I worked at a shop, I talked to a guys at Fox about making a 40mm Stantion fork with 180mm of travel. He laughed and said buy a 40 and drop the suspension. Looks like they finally listened. However, I still think they should have made it with 40mm stantions instead of 36mm.
